This years race is now open for entries and will be held on on Sunday 14 October at 11:00am, at the usual location of Charterhouse Centre, Nr Blagdon, Bristol.

The Mendip Muddle is our toughest race. Held over 20km (12 miles) of the finest Mendip Hills, the course is hilly (there’s 420m of climb) and set in some of the finest scenery in the West Country. There are Roman lead mines, underground rivers, a nature reserve, open moorland, potholes, an ancient rabbit warren, an Iron Age fort and prehistoric tumuli. You will run past Velvet Bottom, Rhino Rift, Beacon Batch, Twin Brooks, Dolebury, Rowberrow Bottom, Tyning's, Black Down and Rains Batch. All but 2km of the course is off road and it can get a little boggy in places so make sure you bring your off road shoes.

Enter online before 1 September for an early bird price of £13.

The Fit Fifty track the trails at Tyntesfield while The Fab Four rock Liverpool

Fifty runners from Weston Athletic Club gathered outside the house at Tyntesfield last Wednesday evening for the annual 10k off-road race around the estate. This is more than the club has ever fielded before at the event, thanks mainly to the growing popularity of off-road running among the newer members.

All members completed the undulating route across fields and through woodland. First to ascend the driveway for the final sprint along the closing strait was Matt Wheeler in 42.48. Allan Fuller and Phil Tomlinson followed in 43.34 and 44.03 respectively... Read more

Weston run rings around Glastonbury

Sunday’s record breaking temperatures were great news for most, but not so much for the two dozen Weston Athletic Club runners taking on the annual ‘Round the Tor’ 10k road race at Glastonbury. The heat and lack of breeze made the going particularly tough on the hills and many runners felt the effects, struggling in the closing miles of the race... read more
